MATCH PREVIEW | Reserves clash with Robins in second match on Sunday

The Reserves competition is starting to heat up with four games to go, and Chev Walker's Leeds Rhinos side looks to keep hold of their place at the top of the table as they head to Sewell Group Craven Park to take on Hull KR on Sunday afternoon, kick off 5.30pm.

Back-to-back home wins against Wakefield Trinity and Warrington Wolves pushed the Rhinos into the top spot, having sat in second for the majority of the campaign. Last time out against Trinity, two tries from Marcus Qareqare helped lead a nine-try display plus Cooper Jenkins and Jack Sinfield both added to tries in the Wolves clash with scores again befoee stepping back up to the first team last Friday - Sinfield is not the side's leading points scorer with 60 points in three appearances.

An 18-16 loss to Hull FC remains the Rhinos' only defeat in 2025 as Walker's side look ahead to taking on the Robins on Sunday before returning to home for games against Salford and Bradford. Reserves games against Hull KR have always produced drama and close scorelines since the competition returned in 2022, with the current record sitting at one win apiece and one draw. The Rhinos held on to defeat the Robins at Stanningley back in 2022, before a drop goal from Fergus McCormack a year later saw the sides share the points in the final game of the year. The 2024 edition of Sunday's clash went the way of Hull KR, thanks to a late try from Lennie Ellis, showing that this weekend's matchup should bring equally as much drama.

Hull KR look to follow in the footsteps of their cross-city rivals in inflicting defeat on the Rhinos as they attempt a late charge up the standings. Coming off the back of a loss last time out to Hull FC, the Robins have three wins so far this campaign and have pushed teams higher up the table very close on the scoreboard. Opening the year with wins over St Helens and Huddersfield, Hull KR came close to taking wins away from Hull and Wigan, only to lose out by two points on both occasions. After losing to Wakefield and Castleford during the middle of the season, they bounced back to beat Warrington by one point.

The Robins look ahead to welcoming Leeds and Bradford during this month, before games against Leigh and Salford give them an opportunity to apply pressure on the top four.
